It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks at Crown Court Church of Scotland, with big steps forward for our future, hundreds of visitors through our doors and even a little bit of piping in Soho Square.
At the heart of it all is A Kirk for Tomorrow, our ambitious renewal project for Crown Court and the next chapter in the life of our church and community.
We’re delighted to share that our £200,000 community fundraising campaign has now passed the halfway mark. In less than two months, pledges have reached £102,400, including anticipated Gift Aid and match funding.
The response from our community has been wonderful, and every pledge brings us closer to being able to move ahead with the planned works early next year.

We’ve also been opening our doors and sharing more about both the past and future of Crown Court.
Over two weekends in September, we welcomed 930 people as part of London’s Open House Festival. Visitors had the chance to explore the church, discover more about our 300-year history and hear about the plans for A Kirk for Tomorrow.
For the first time, we also took part in the West End Open House Neighbourhood Festival. Our Elder and piper Chris had the honour of piping the Lady Mayor of Westminster into Soho Square. Bringing a little bit of Scotland to the heart of London.

A huge thank you goes to all our congregational volunteers who gave their time to welcome visitors, answer questions and share Crown Court with so many new people.
With hundreds of people coming through the doors, our fundraising campaign gathering momentum and plans for the future taking shape, it really has been quite a month at Crown Court.
There is still a way to go to reach our £200,000 community fundraising target, so if you would like to find out more about A Kirk for Tomorrow, support the project or make a pledge, please visit the Crown Court Church website or contact futures@crowncourtchurch.com.
