London Scottish Rugby is looking forward to the new season, with the semi-pro and amateur sides preparing for the return to competitive action.
Semi-Pro Side
The semi-pro side are well into their pre-season training and gearing up for their next warm-up fixture, away to Esher on Friday 28 August.
The season proper kicks off on 5 September with a trip to Bury St Edmunds RFC, before the first home match against Tonbridge Juddians on 12 September. If you are tempted, it should be a great game, with some extra fun and new features built in and around it. Tickets are available through TicketCo, London Scottish’s new ticketing platform.
The Lions
The senior amateur sides, the Lions, continue to build on the growth of recent seasons, both on and off the pitch. There are now more than 100 active players, with three teams competing in leagues at Levels 5 and 7 and in the Middlesex Merit.
The Lions started their campaigns with two teams in the Grasshoppers Tournament on Saturday 22 August, and will continue with friendlies away at Sutton & Epsom RFC on Thursday 27 August and Royal Wootton Bassett RFC on Saturday 5 September.
Their first league fixture will be away at Worthing RFC on 12 September, while a key feature of the season will be 11 home double-headers at Kings House Sports Ground in Chiswick, creating a great day out with lunches and hospitality. C Lions fixtures are still to be finalised.
More than Rugby
London Scottish is a thriving Elite Community Club and welcomes new players from the age of six upwards. A key objective is to provide a Rugby – Social – Business community network for new and existing members.
A recent Partnership Agreement with the Scottish Business Network, also part of Scots in London, is helping to build that wider business network around the club.
